RTE - Main Options
Any area that highlights in orange is a Rich Text Editor (RTE). The RTE is your primary way to change the content on each page. While editing an RTE, you can type content directly onto the page. You can also highlight text and use the following options to format it.
- Bold - This makes your text bold -
- Italics - This makes your text italicized-
- Underline - This makes your text underlined -
- Strikethrough - This draws a line through your text -
- Align Left - Sets your text to be left aligned -
- Align Center - Sets your text to be center aligned -
- Align Right - Sets your text to be right aligned -
- Align Full - This sets your text to be justified, meaning the text will line up smoothly on both sides -
- Format - This applies pre-formatted settings to an entire block of text. Paragraph will add line space around the block, Address will italicize it, and Heading 1-6 will alter the font size and make it bold -
- Font Family - This applies the chosen font face to your text -
- Font Size - This applies the chosen font size to your text -
- Copy - Copies the highlighted text so that you may Paste it elsewhere -
- Cut - Cuts the highlighted text from the page so that you may Paste it elsewhere -
- Paste - Pastes your most recent copied/cut text to the page.
- Paste as Plain Text - Opens a new window for you to paste your copied/cut text to the page from an outside program without any formatting -
- Screenshot - Paste from Word - Opens a new window for you to paste your copied/cut text to the page from Microsoft Word, retaining the formatting but modifying it to work correctly on the web. Pasting Microsoft Word content using the normal Paste option could lead to technical problems on your page -
-Screenshot - Find - Allows you to enter a word or phrase to find its location within the RTE -

- Screenshot - Unordered List - Sets the text to be a bulleted list. The bullet style is determined by your current design -
- Ordered List - Sets the text to be a numbered list -
- Indent - This will indent a full block of text. The text will shift to the right each time you use indent -
- Outdent - This will outdent an indented block of text. The text will shift back to the left -
- Blockquote - This will indent a full block of text on both sides. Clicking the button again will undo this -
- Undo - This will undo the last change you made to the RTE -
- Redo - This will redo the last change you used Undo on -
- Link - This will allow you to add a link to highlighted text When you click the button, a new window will open asking you what type of link you would like to add -
- Screenshot - New Page - This will open up the create new page screen. Once the new page is created, your text will automatically be linked based on its filename - Screenshot
- Existing Page - This will open a list of your exiting pages for you to choose from. Once you select a page, your text will automatically be linked based on its filename - Screenshot
- Outside Web Page - This will let you enter a link to someone else's web site. Make sure to keep the "http://" at the beginning of the address you enter - Screenshot
- Email Address - This will let you enter the email address you would like to link to - Screenshot
- Existing File - This will open a list of the current files for your site. Once you have selected a file, your text will automatically be linked based on its filename - Screenshot
- New File - This will allow you to upload a new file to your site. Once you have selected a file, your text will automatically be linked based on its filename - Screenshot
- Unlink - This will remove a link from selected text -
- Insert / Edit Anchor - This will add let you add a word as an anchor to the page. The word you enter can be used in a link to directly go to this specifc location on the page -
- Screenshot - Edit HTML Source - Allows you to edit the HTML code of the RTE -
- Select Text Color - Specify the color of the text. Click the arrow to select the color and the button itself to apply it -
- Select Background Color - Specify the color of the background behind the selected text. Click the arrow to select the color and the button itself to apply it -
- Insert / Edit Table - This will open a window allowing you to add a table to the page. You can specify the width, height, columns, rows, and several other options. For more better control over the table appearance, we recommened using Table Row Properties and Table Cell Properties to control the width and height. You will be able to add content within the table by placing your cursor inside -

- Screenshot - Insert Row Before - Adds a table row above the cell your cursor is in -
- - Insert Row After - Adds a table row below the cell your cursor is in -
- - Delete Row - Deletes the row your cursor is in -
- - Insert Column Before - Adds a table column to the left of the cell your cursor is in -
- - Insert Column After - Adds a table column to the right of the cell your cursor is in -
- - Delete Column - Deletes the row your cursor is in -
- - Merge Table Cells - Allows you to merge the cell your cursor is in with cells to the right or below it. A window will open asking how many Columns (cells to the right of your current cell) and/or Rows (cells below your current cell) you want to be merged -
- Screenshot - Split Merged Table Cells - If your current cell is a merged cell, this will split it back into its original cells -
- Remove Formatting - Removes the following settings -
- Font Face
- Font Size
- Bold
- Italic
- Underline
- Color
- Toggle Guidelines / Invisible Elements - This will show the guidelines around your tables and layers, or hide them if they are already showing -
- Subscript - This will set your text to appear as subscript, smaller and below the other text -
- Superscript - This will set your text to appear as superscript, smaller and above the other text -
- Insert Character - This will open a menu of characters for you to insert. Click a character to add it -
- Screenshot - Insert Emotion - This will open a menu of emoticons for you to insert. Click a emoticon to add it -
- Screenshot - Horizontal Rule - This will place a horizontal line on the page. You can determine its width and height, and whe Any highlighted text would be deleted when you use this option -
- Screenshot - Edit CSS Style - This opens a window that allows you to apply a wide variety of options to content. Any settings you apply here are applied to the entire block of content (such as a paragraph), so if you only want to edit one word you should use the other optiosn available. After choosing an option, click Apply to make it take effect and then click Update to return to the main window -
- Insert Non-Breaking Space Character - This places a space where your cursor is. This space is different than a normal space, as it will not allow text to wrap from it. This can be used if you would like a line of text to extend past its normal limit -
- Insert / Edit Embedded Media - This lets you add a video or audio file to your page. You can choose the type of file you are adding, the file itself, and the Dimensions (height and width) it will have on the page. You will also get a preview of the file.

If you have used the Add to Page - Image option to add an image to an RTE, you will be able to make changes to that image. While editing the RTE, click the image to select it and allow the following options.
- Resize - You can resize the image by clicking one of the white highlight boxes and dragging your mouse.
- Move - You can click and drag the image to a different place within the RTE.

After making any changes to the RTE, you will need to click Save or Cancel to close the edit options. You will also need to click the Save button on the menu bar to fully preserve the changes.
